How to support staff to manage challenging behaviour in the classroom – a free video Series for Teachers

Teachers are struggling with behaviour.

It is one of the top reasons that teachers are leaving the profession.

As well as front-line strategies; schools, local authorities, academy chains and the infrastructure of our nation’s education system must support staff and our most vulnerable students. With ever increasing class sizes, performance pressure on students and staff as well as overwhelming teacher workloads, ‘managing’ behaviour can cause some of the largest difficulties within a school.

Students with Emotional Behaviour Difficulties often have issues that are complex and, even if staff have the heart and will to help, more than likely they do not have the time or expertise to support these students fully. The result can be disruption not only for those students, but also the others in their class.

There is no magic button to sort this problem out.
There are many factors in the education system that contribute to this difficult situation.

However, there are many simple actions that leaders, policy makers, governors, local authorities and decision makers can do. This video series presents some important initial ideas and approaches that we must consider to move forward in enabling an equal education for all our young people.
