This report by The Difference on behalf of The Institute For Public Policy Research was published last week. Its 56 pages paint an insightful picture of the wider context of children’s lack of engagement in our education system and its impact on schools, families, society and crucially the children themselves. For those of us working in schools there is much we recognise and for those of us working in behaviour and the SEN system there is very little we did not know. However, the report puts some shocking numbers to the sense we all have.
